If you are heading to Cancun then you are about to have one of the best vacations in your lifetime. There are a lot of things to do in the Quintana Roo area for every type of traveler. The people who want to have a great relaxing time at the beach will do so at some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, while those looking for a vacation that can be used for learning will find everything from the best Mexican food to some of the most important archaeological sites in the world.

Of course if you are a party type of person there are enough bars and night clubs to keep you busy. So no matter what type of traveler you are you should not forget to pack a few things, and here is a good list of those things.

Comfortable Clothing

You will need comfortable clothing on your visit to Cancun because there is a good chance that you will be moving a lot. Make sure to pack comfortable sneakers, especially if you are planning to visit areas like Cozumel or Chichen Itza. You will notice that locals for the most part wear jeans, but you should bring your shorts because it can get warm. The hottest temperature on record is 106.7F (41.5C), but you also have to take into account the humidity. It is also a good idea to bring a light water proof jacket as it can rain a lot especially in the month of October.

From November to March you may also need a light jacket if you are going out at night, but the temperatures never drop too low so you can leave any heavy jackets at home. It is also very unquestionably that you will need to wear a sweater or light jacket during the day time, so one or two of those would be enough.

Swimsuits

All of the activities available in Cancun it is still a beach vacation. Chances are that you will spend a lot of your time on the sand and in the water, so bringing a couple of swim suits. No one likes to put on a wet swimsuit so having a couple of them makes sense. Also make sure that you add sandals to your swimsuit package as they are needed when the sun hits the sand in the middle of the day.

Large Size Shoes

If you have feet that are larger than a size 11 for men or 9 for women then make sure that you pack dress shoes and sneakers. If you were to take a chance and wanted to purchase them during your trip it can be hard to find them. For some reason larger shoes are hardly ever found at Mexican shoe stores and that is the case even in large cities like Cancun and Mexico City.

Your Own Equipment

The Cancun area is perfect for those who want to go diving or snorkeling. Taking a trip to Isla Mujeres or Cozumel will give you a chance to get some of the best snorkeling ever. Bring your own fins and goggles if you have them because otherwise you may be paying a bit of a high price to rent them. If you are heading to a zip line or the jungle also bring mosquito repellent and sun block. Both are available in supermarkets in the area, but do you really want to spend time at the supermarket while you are taking such a great vacation?

Your Camera

This will be a vacation that you will want to remember for the rest of your life so make sure that you bring a good camera because there will be a lot of pictures to take. If you have a water proof camera then that will work even better. Also make sure that you bring a good size memory card or lots of film.
