If a burger is what you’re after, you’ll find several great options in Paramount including Tam’s Burgers, Doublz and Sky’s Burgers.

Tam’s Burgers, located on Alondra Boulevard has been voted Number 1 for Burgers in the Paramount area by several local publications. This is because Tam’s offers a wide selection of juicy, quality hamburgers that come with a heaping helping of French fries. Tam’s also offers some nontraditional lunch items such as Chicken Tacos, the Pastrami Burger, Chili Cheese Fries and the Chicken Burger. Tam’s is open very late and serves breakfast for lunch as well.

Doublz is often the biggest competitor for the top spot for burgers in Paramount. Located on Paramount Boulevard, Doublz offers huge burgers, cooked the way you like with a even larger selection of toppings. One of the favorites here is the Colossal Burger, which will probably feed two or keep one person full all day long. Doublz also serves a variety of fresh sandwiches, quesadillas and burritos. Sky’s Burgers on Lakewood Boulevard offers a quaint 50’s diner atmosphere and one of the largest burgers in the Southern California area.

Nearby in Long Beach is the very well-known Dave’s Burger on Atlantic Avenue about 15 minutes south of Paramount. While the menu is limited to almost just burgers and they don’t come with French fries, Dave’s does burgers better than anyone else in the area. Keep in mind that Dave’s is often busy because their product is top notch and they don’t accept credit cards.

If a fresh and filling sandwich is more your style, there are lots of great options as well, including Eastern Meats & Deli on Alondra Boulevard that is both a restaurant and full-service deli. Their huge sandwiches and filled with the freshest and finest meats in the area. Aside from sandwiches they also offers steaks, ribs and specialties that change from week to week.

Waikiki Hawaiian Grill, located on Paramount Boulevard, offers an authentic Hawaiian menu for something a little different than the traditional burger or American style cuisine. Some of the most popular menu choices include BBQ dishes, laulau, Spam musubi, macaroni salad, house noodles and chicken katsu. Another one of Paramount’s worldly cuisine choices is Treasure Pot Thai Restaurant on Alondra Boulevard. This family owned and operated restaurant is often regarded as the most authentic Thai restaurant in the area and offers traditional and authentic Thai dishes such as Pat Ped Paduk, Pat Ped Nua, boat noodles, papaya salad and Ton Yum soup.

For sushi lovers, the place to go for lunch in Paramount is Japanese Castle, which is well-known in the Southern California area for its high quality sushi rolls, great prices and excellent service. Japanese Castle can be found on Paramount Boulevard and opens at 11am Monday through Saturday and 2pm on Sundays. This sushi restaurant offers an overwhelmingly large variety of sushi rolls from traditional to unique. Some of the favorites include the Bryan Roll, Tsunami Roll and the Vegas Roll as well as the chicken teriyaki.

While many of the authentic Mexican restaurants in Paramount are known for their breakfasts, they also serve a great lunch. Picoso! Mexican Grill on Rosecrans Avenue opens daily at 11am and offers up a more home-cooked spin on big name Mexican restaurants. Mariscos El Pereihuente on Paramount Boulevard also offers authentic Mexican lunches including all the classics like tacos, burritos, ceviche and quesadillas.

Café Corleone on Paramount Boulevard offers a wide variety of traditional Italian dishes as well as several different hand-tossed pizzas at great prices. Two of the favorite lunch menu items at Café Corleone are the Calabrese Style Pork Tenderloin Sandwich and the Chicken Vesubio.

Alondra Hot Wings on Alondra Boulevard is the go to place for all things chicken wings and is one of the best places to get lunch while watching sports on one of their many TVs.
